     Excerpt from a letter received in March 2010.

  Hello!  I think you'll remember me. My name is JMP.  (name withheld)  I was a resident at St. Francis House from October 2008 thru October 2009.  I'm writing to thank you and your staff at St. Francis House for all you did for me while I was a resident.  I'd likd to add a special thanks to Mrs. Julie Schafer, Mr. Gary, and (who could forget) Ms. Rose.  Without their help, compassion and assistance I don't know where I'd have ended up.  You gave me a job as the Kitchen Staff.  You tried your best to accommodate my physical limitation given the concerns of St. Francis faces with ongoing budget and space limitations.

  I am happy to tell you now that "all is well" and I'm now lilving in northwest Florida.  I've started receiving Social Security Disability insurance benefits and, thank GOD, I've also been graced with a lump sum payment.  Yes, I'm spoiling myself a little with the "things" I've done without or missed having for a long time. But first, I've used this money to pay off a huge part of the debts and obligations I've ignored in my previous life of selfish indulgence and excesses.  I've gained enormous relief from doing this!  Ther closer I get to being solvent and productive again the more relieved I've become.
